Singer-TV host Toni Gonzaga admitted that there was a point in her life that she was afraid of being a ‘has-been’ celebrity.

Now, she had a change of mindset as she mentioned that it’s in the matter of how a person perceives it.

Toni has been in the showbiz industry for about 20 years. However, with all her experience, she said that there are still times when she gets hit by her insecurities.

“Laging may question na ganu’n. Am I still good enough to do this? Am I still capable of doing this? Should I still be doing this?” she said in an interview with Boy Abunda.

“Kasi the moment that you feel na you know it all, you have it all, that’s the moment you stop learning,” she added.

When asked about her opinion on being an obsolete artist, Toni said that she doesn’t mind it anymore. She said that she just focuses her attention on the people whom she listens to.

“When I was younger, (takot ako malaos), oo. Laging ‘yun ang panakot sa ‘yo kapag ayaw mo tumanggap ng trabaho or kapag tatanggi ka sa gig. Laging iyan ang panakot sa ‘yo when you’re younger. As you grow old, you choose the people you will listen to. Pinili ko na. Mapapagod ka, eh,” she said.

“’Hay naku malalaos ka.’ Bigla ka na lang magsasalita sa sarili mo, ‘Eh ‘di malalaos talaga.’ Inevitable naman iyan, eh.

“There will be a season where it’s not your season anymore. You have to be comfortable with that. You have to accept that. ‘Yung pagiging laos is a matter of how you look at it,” she added.

Toni Gonzaga is one of the most successful artists in her generation. Aside from being a singer and a television host, she has also starred in various Kapamilya films and series.

She currently hosts the online talk show ‘I Feel U’. She is set to star in an upcoming film which is a Filipino adaptation of the Korean romantic-comedy ‘My Sassy Girl’. She is also set to star in an upcoming film ‘The Exorcism of my Siszums’ with her sister, Alex Gonzaga.
