The Phenomenal Star, Maine Mendoza, shares backstage talks with POPinoy aspirants and how it reminded her of her shy demeanor early on in her career.
In the media conference for the Newest Superstar Maker: PoPinoy, Mendoza shared having backstage talks with the aspirants about their drive in joining the reality competition.
“Ako super natutuwa ako kasi before they go on stage nakakausap namin sila. Natutuwa ako everytime na magkwe-kwento sila about the journey na parang kita mo talaga na gusto talaga nila tong ginagawa nila na talagang gagawin nila lahat to get here.”
Mendoza added that she wishes she had the same demeanor when she started in showbiz.
“Yun yung parang wini-wish ko na parang sana ganon din ako before. Kasi sobrang mahiyain ako.”
She also lauds the aspiring boy and girl groups for their perseverance and willingness to reach the top.
“Natutuwa ako na nakikita yung passion nila at perseverance nila sa ginagawa nila. And how they’re willing to sacrifice so much to be here and yun to reach the top. So yun nakakatuwa na makita yun.”
Mendoza began her career as the DubSmash Queen. From there, she became Yaya Dub and has since skyrocketed into stardom with her love team with Alden Richards, which formed AlDub.
As for landing the hosting stint in PoPinoy, Mendoza expressed her gratitude to TV5 for trusting her with the project.
“Grateful ako na kinonsider ako na maghost ng show na to along with Kuya Pao. So, ayun thankful ako sa TV5, and sa APT and sa TNT for having me as their host dito sa POPinoy.”
Mendoza and Paolo Ballesteros host PoPinoy, TV5’s upcoming search for the next ultimate Pinoy Pop idols. Joining them are premiere celebrities with a keen eye for talents, such as Maja Salvador, Jay-R, DJ Loonyo, and Kayla Rivera.
