‘Rated Korina’ unveils season 2 offerings

Fresh from her month-long respite, award-winning news journalist and magazine TV host Korina Sanchez-Roxas beams with excitement as she proudly gives a sneak peek of Rated Korina’s forthcoming second season.

Set to premiere on multiple channels starting June 19, the show makes its much-awaited comeback starting June 19 via multiple media platforms: A2Z (Saturday, 6-7pm), TV5 (Sunday, 10-11pm), Kapamilya Channel (Saturday, 11pm-12am), OnePH (Saturday, 7-8pm), and ABS-CBN’s international channels TFC and iWantTFC.

Known for its up-close and in-depth coverages of some of the country’s hottest trending issues, Rated Korina leaves no stone unturned in its quest for the inside track—the very heart and soul of each and every story that tugs at the Pinoy psyche.

If she’s looking even more fit and fab these days, it’s simply because the indefatigable Korina has been traveling cross-country with her team, in search of feel-good, ‘kurot sa puso’ stories worth retelling.

“The short break was a good time to reassess everything—to look at things with fresh eyes, to streamline our production process, and as always, to get in touch with the pulse of the people and stay fresh and relevant,” Korina asserts.

“Reinvention is always a good thing, because you can’t always rest on your laurels and resort to cookie-cutter formulas. It’s a good thing that our production team is more attuned to the trends, aside from being younger and more adventurous with ideas.”

The show makes its comeback with a bevy of fresh episodes guaranteed to tickle the interest of Pinoy pop culture fans.

For starters, pageants will definitely have a field day with its “Gandang Pinay” episode featuring an intimate tete-a-tete with today’s recently-anointed queens, plus a sneak backstage peek behind two of the biggest and most-awaited local pageants.

History buffs will get a fresh perspective on national hero Jose Rizal, as seen through the eyes of the people who knew him best, and as immortalized through well-preserved artifacts and mementos enshrined in countryside under-the-radar museums.

Travel bugs will surely get the itch to pack their bags and hie off to some of the country’s top tourist destinations featured in the show’s “Mabuhay Pilipinas” episode. With most of the country’s top cities slowly opening their gates to tourists after the lingering health crisis, it’s high time for Pinoys to reacquaint themselves with their motherland’s world-acclaimed scenic spots.

Rated Korina also goes into the heart of the city of Manila as part of its long-running Handog Tsinelas campaign, as well as its food relief program for destitute families.

Rated Korina is produced by Brightlight Productions.
