Award-winning actor Christopher de Leon headlines the second episode of the month-long anniversary specials of “Wish Ko Lang!” this Saturday (July 10).

For the very first time, Christopher takes on the role of a gay man. In the story “Mr. Right,” Jake (Christopher) is a talented gown designer who owns a small boutique. He lives a simple life together with his friend Georgie (Thou Reyes) and is content with his life. Jake sometimes participates in pageants where he designs the outfits of its male and female contestants. He meets Romeo (Shido Roxas) through one of these contests and eventually falls deeply in love with him. Five years into the relationship, Romeo leaves Jake because he wants to have a real family. While heart broken, Jake continues to support Romeo from afar. Romeo marries Sarah (Patricia Tumulak) and together they will have a son named Kristof (Vince Crisostomo). But Romeo dies and Sarah looks for another man. With his family broken and incomplete, Kristof finds a parental figure in Jake, who will treat him as his own son. Their unusual relationship causes eyebrows to raise but Kristof defends his ‘father.’ Sarah suddenly returns one day and wants to take Kristof back with her. Now Kristof must choose between his real mother and the father he found in Jake.

For almost two decades now, “Wish Ko Lang!” has been touching the lives of Filipinos with stories that spark hope and inspiration. Its host, GMA News pillar Vicky Morales, is grateful for the public’s continued support of the award-winning public service program and drama anthology.

“I’m very grateful to our viewers. We wouldn’t be around this long kung hindi dahil sa kanila, kung hindi dahil sa paniniwala nila na mahal nila ang program natin as much as we love our program also. Kaya thank you very much sa mga viewer natin. Thank you also sa lahat ng staff ng Wish Ko Lang at sa GMA for believing in the program,” she said.

For its 19th anniversary celebration, the program has prepared five special episodes for the whole month of July. Last week’s special episode—“Ang Forever ni Miss Virgie”— featured new Kapuso Pokwang as she portrayed the character of a teacher who was so dedicated to work she had no time for romance. But everything changed when she got to meet again one of her former students, Joshua (Jeric Gonzales), who fell for Virgie. Arra San Agustin played Jeric’s ex-girlfriend in the episode.

Set to headline the upcoming anniversary episodes of “Wish Ko Lang!” are Albert Martinez, Rhian Ramos, and Sanya Lopez.

Catch “Wish Ko Lang!” this Saturday at 4 pm on GMA Network. Kapuso abroad can also watch it on GMA Pinoy TV. For more updates about GMA Network, visit www.gmanetwork.com.
