Adrian Lindayag, Keann Johnson thrilled to see their MMFF movie to have a follow-up series

On August 9, during the media conference, Kapamilya artists Adrian Lindayag and Keann Johnson expressed their excitement and gratitude for the continuation of Dominic and Luke’s story from their successful Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2020 entry, Boy Foretold By The Stars, that has a follow-up series, Love Beneath The Stars.

“Sobrang na-excite kami ni Keann na magkakaroon ng series. Na magkakaroon ng continuation ‘yung story kasi I agree with the fans na bitin ‘yung ending ng pelikula,” said Lindayag.

“We all poured our 110%. We really poured our hearts out, blood, sweat, and tears. Kaya nga, I’m so thankful to be a part of this production, of this team. Thank you so much.”

Johnson added, “I want to give credit din sa mga fans, because of course, partly the reason why natuloy din ang ‘Love Beneath The Stars’ is because of the fans.”

Lindayag also shared his views on how Boys Love content helped improve the representation of LGBTQIA+ characters in media.

As an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, Johnson pointed out that BL content signifies a ‘huge step’ in representation.

“I’m a proud ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. So para sa akin, my perspective, I think it’s something that everyone, not just everyone in society but of course, the community has been waiting for. It’s basically a sigh of relief na finally, our story gets to be told.

“And para sa akin, it’s a huge step for the LGBTQ+ community. It shows how evolved society is in accepting the community.”

As for their chemistry, both stars revealed how they got over their awkward phase while filming the movie and the series.

“100% walang ilang. We had no problems whatsoever, ever since the movie, sobrang open. This is why I love my partner so much. Especially because it’s my first BL ever, he really accepted me with open arms,” Johnson noted.

Lindayag gushed, “na-appreciate ko ‘yung kung paano niya ako trinust. ‘Yung kung paano niya hinawakan ‘yung kamay ko since the movie.”

Joining them in Love Beneath the Stars are Romnick Sarmenta, Nikki Valdez, Agot Isidro, Victor Silayan, and Von Picson. It will still be directed by Dolly Dulu and co-produced by Kapamilya actress Jodi Sta. Maria. The series streams on iWanTFC on August 16.
