On October 5, Kim Atienza addressed bashers questioning his loyalty to ABS-CBN before transferring to GMA Network.

During his interview for his Kapuso welcome, Atienza clarified that he didn’t abandon ABS-CBN during its darkest time.

“Ang binabato sa aking issue, e, ‘Bakit ko iniwanan ang ABS-CBN, sinabi ko namang di ko iiwanan?’ Ang sagot ko diyan, I am not leaving ABS-CBN at its darkest moment. The darkest moment of my former company has passed.”

He also noted that it was the ‘perfect weather for his transfer, hinting at ABS-CBN’s upcoming announcement.

“Believe me, in a few months, they will announce something very beautiful which I cannot disclose, and it would be good for them. So, I’m leaving them at a time that is good. It’s not the time at their darkest. The time of their darkest was last year.

“Ayun ang tamang weather ng pag-goodbye ko, at pagpasok ko. Talagang eksaktong-eksakto. Kung nahuli ako ng ilang araw, maaaring di mangyari.”

He also acknowledged the network wars between the Kapuso and Kapamilya network fans.

“Alam mo, merong network wars talaga, e. Talagang may die-hard na Kapamilya, may die-hard na Kapuso, na araw araw. Kagabi nga nanonood ako ng 24 Oras, sa computer ako nanonood, at habang pinapanood ko, nakabukas ang chat room.

“Naku! Walang tigil ang giyera sa Kapuso at Kapamilya… Whatever you’re doing, whatever you’re saying, palaging may hater, e.”

As for his bashers, Atienza shared how he interacts with online trolls on social media.

“If it’s valid, then maybe I’ll learn something. If it’s not valid, then I’ll know it’s just a troll, and I just let it pass.

“Sometimes I give a piece of trivia to answer the troll para maging nakakatawa lang yung sitwasyon.”

Earlier, Atienza confirmed his transfer to GMA network and trended on social media after his emotional farewell to his colleagues in TV Patrol. According to reports, Atienza already has three shows lined up for his new chapter in the Kapuso network.

He will have a segment in 24 Oras, then two shows titled, Mars Pa More and Dapat Alam Mo.

The former ABS-CBN weather anchor worked in ABS-CBN for 17 years and has hosted various programs within the network, such as Matanglawin and It’s Showtime.
