The Friday, October 1 episode of ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol turned emotional as Kim Atienza received farewell messages from his colleagues in the news program.

Kuya Kim is transferring to the GMA Network, where he is set to host three Kapuso shows; an entertainment trivia show before 24 Oras, Mars Pa More, and substitute for Mang Tani for 24 Oras weather reports.

On his last day, the resident weather anchor thanked his home network of 17 years, his ABS-CBN bosses as well as his colleagues.

He also thanked the Kapamilya viewers who supported him.

In the last part of his message, Kuya Kim turned emotional as he said his famous proverbial phrase, “Ang buhay ay weather, weather lang!”

“Sa ngayon, nais kong sabihin, for the last time. Sa huling pagkakataon. Ang buhay ay weather, weather lang! Hanggang sa muli, Kapamilya. Salamat po!” he said.

Kuya Kim then received farewell messages from his colleagues in TV Patrol like Noli de Castro, Bernadette Sembrano, Henry Omaga Diaz, and Gretchen Fullido.

De Castro wished Kuya Kim well saying, “Kuya Kim, 17 years ka na naming kasama sa TV Patrol, ngayon lang ako naniwala sa katagang ‘Ang buhay ay weather, weather lang!’ Good luck, Kuya Kim.”

Sembrano also wished Kuya Kim well and mentioned that they would always support him.

“Kuya Kim, mami-miss ka namin. Thank you very much at sincerely, we really, really want you to be happy. Thank you very much. Love you!” she said.

Diaz believed that this was not the last time that he would be working with Kuya Kim.

Ika nga eh maaring magkasama pa tayong ulit dahil ‘Ang buhay ay weather, weather lang,” he said.

While Fullido expressed how she will miss Kuya Kim’s presence in the news program, she said the weather anchor contributed much to the Kapamilya network.

“Kuya Kim! But your contribution [in] Matanglawin, as our ‘Kuya Kim’, ay talagang maraming-marami kang pinasaya.

“We love you, Kuya Kim. We’re so excited for your next journey. We love you so much, and we’re gonna miss you. Love you, Kuya Kim!” she said.

Following his network transfer, Atienza also got flooded with support and love from his other colleagues like Karen Davila, Korina Sanchez, Dyan Castillejo, and Pinky Webb.
