Johnny “Mr. M” Manahan said he has high hopes for the eight Kapuso stars featured as Sparkle’s next brightest stars for 2022.
On January 14, Sparkle mentioned that Bianca Umali, Ysabel Ortega, Gabbi Garcia, Sanya Lopez, Khalil Ramos, Derrick Monasterio, Miguel Tanfelix, and Ruru Madrid are the Kapuso artists that people should look forward to this year.
During Mr. M’s media interview, he said that the eight artists are good since they’re all handpicked.
“Actually ,’yang walo na ‘yan, magagaling ‘yan. That’s why we picked them to be part of the gang of eight for Sparkle,” he said.
He explained that even though the eight artists have the spotlight, it does not mean that they are the only good ones in Sparkle.
“Ang masasabi ko lang dito, magaganda silang lahat, magagaling, and they are very smart. We just guide them, they do their thing. Nandiyan lang kami para gabayan sila.
“Hindi ibig sabihin na sila lang ang nagsa-sparkle sa Sparkle. Sila lang ang nauna. Later this year, magpapasabog pa kami ng mga bagong artista,” said Mr. M.
Bianca Umali recently starred in the Kapuso series Legal Wives along with Dennis Trillo, Alice Dixon, and Andrea Torres. Derrick Monasterio was also a part of the series. The series first aired in July 2021 and ended in November 2021.
During its finale week, the series ranked as the second most-watched program nationwide.
Ysabel Ortega is set to star in the much-awaited Kapuso series Voltes V: Legacy. But before the series will premiere, she will also star in a series ‘What We Could Be?’ along with Miguel Tanfelix.
Gabbi Garcia is a regular host in the variety show All-Out Sunday. She is also set to star in a series titled, Love You Stranger with her boyfriend Khalil Ramos.
Sanya Lopez recently starred in the fantasy series Agimat ng Agila along with Bong Revilla. During its finale episode on July 24, 2021, the series topped the NUTAM rating chart of AGB Nielsen with 14.7%.
Ruru Madrid is set to star in the Kapuso series Lolong. The series was first announced in 2019 but had a slow start and progress due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He is rumored to reunite onscreen with Kylie Padilla.
As GMA network rebranded the name of its Artist Center to Sparkle, they also released Sparkle’s official music video to showcase their artists.
