The new Kapamilya series impressed with a high pilot rating, albeit failed to topple its rival Kapuso show, False Positive.
KathNiel’s comeback series, 2 Good 2 Be True was already a winner way before it hit the local free TV, as it shot up to the top of Netflix local charts, a few days after its advanced streaming premiere.
The series claimed the overall number one spot among all contents on Netflix Philippines, by Monday, May 16.
Replacing The Broken Marriage Vow on its old timeslot, 2 Good 2 Be True immediately impressed with a very high concurrent live viewers on Kapamilya Online Live, where it saw as high as 126,000 viewers on the platform, on its pilot episode. That’s notably already high, as previous shows that occupied the time slot rarely surpassed 100,000 live viewers.
As far as TV rating is concerned, 2 Good 2 Be True does not fall short of dazzling fans and the management, either, as it pulled off an impressive 8% people rating, according to AGB Nielsen National Urban TV Measurement (NUTAM) data. That is despite the show’s failure to defeat GMA Network’s False Positive, which rated 9.9% on the same day.
The Kapamilya series is Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s first primetime TV series in five years, after 2017’s La Luna Sangre. It is also the tandem’s first acting project since the Web series,
The House Arrest of Us premiered on iWantTFC in 2020, before debuting and dominating Netflix Philippines, the following year.
2 Good 2 Be True reunited KathNiel with the blockbuster director Mae Cruz-Alviar, who helmed two of their top-grossing movies–Crazy Beautiful You (2015) and Can’t Help Fallin’ in Love (2017).
The series airs on free television via A2Z and TV5, on cable via Kapamilya Channel and Jeepney TV, and online via Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and Netflix.
