Star Magic artists Alexa Ilacad and KD Estrada admitted on Friday, July 1, that they had garnered support thanks to the reality game show Pinoy Big Brother.
Both of them were housemates in the Kumunity Season 10 of the show, eventually coming out as a love team for ABS-CBN due to their undeniably good chemistry.
Estrada, a singer, during the virtual media conference of the upcoming Star Magic 30: Beyond the Stars US tour, said that their supporters adored them because of the realness they showed during their PBB days.
“I think for me, it’s just being ourselves. I know na in PBB, everything was shown. It’s not the best, to be honest, kasi they’ve seen my worst. I think them seeing [at] my worst and me growing as a person inside the house, and also here outside I’m continuing to grow, I think that’s one of the main factors of the people supporting me and Alexa right now. We’re growing with each other.”
Ilacad, a former Goin’ Bulilit star, added that the Kapamilya talent arm also made an effort to grow their careers further.
“We’re able to showcase our true selves along with our talents and our skills, and what we want to achieve in having a career,” she stated. “I guess kaya po kami tinanggap and minahal ng mga tao is because we were able to show who we really are as artists and also as normal people din.”
Meanwhile, for the US Tour, both of these former housemates were eager to see their fans abroad.
The child actress shared that thanks to Star Magic, they can finally fulfill the wish of their KDLex fanbase: to see them in person.
“I’m so very excited and I’ve been seeing them tagging us na nakabili na sila ng ticket, and how excited they are team abroad international. Dahil simula noong lumabas kami ng PBB, they’ve been asking us, ‘Please come here, we want to see you.’ So we are very happy that we get this chance and opportunity to do what we love, which is perform, alongside meeting our kababayans.”
Estrada was also grateful for the opportunity, thanking Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi for the chance.
For the tour, they are joined by Kim Chiu, Zanjoe Marudo, Andrea Brillantes, Carlo Aquino, Maymay Entrata, Charlie Dizon, Edward Barber, Donny Pangilinan, Belle Mariano, Maris Racal, and Gigi De Lana.
