On August 2, Kapamilya artist Heaven Peralejo revealed that she experienced online dating during the pandemic.

At the media conference for Maalaala Mo Kaya’s August episodes, Peralejo recounted her experience with online dating.
“May time, yes, siguro noong COVID, ay hindi pala COVID, noong pandemic. So I met this person once, and then nagkaroon ng lock down so of course, wala na kaming magawa kung hindi mag-message lang, pero noong bumalik na sa reality and everything.
“Hmmm doon mo mare-realize na that’s the question nga eh, sa MMK namin na like, pagdating ba sa reality it is still the same. ‘Yung pagmamahalan ninyo doon sa online world, kakayanin ba ng reality.”
Peralejo clarified that she still prefers traditional ways of dating and courting.
“I still prefer the traditional way. I’ve been raised like that. Ever since, na nagsimula ako makipag-date, lahat ng makikipag date muna sa akin ay aakyat muna ng ligaw. Ang meaning kasi ng pag-akyat ng ligaw, is not just gifts and like–you know ganon lang.
“It’s more of your family getting to know the person that you’re dating with, parang siyempre, ang pamilya ko kasi traditional, so gusto lang naman nila nasa tamang kamay ako kung lalabas ako with a person na alam mo ‘yun, may gusto.”
However, she noted that she does believe in online dating, especially with this generation.
“I do believe that you can–I mean, halfway ligaw online, get to know each other. Pero, kung magde-date na kayo outside, kailangan may akyat bahay, akyat ligaw muna. But yeah, online na is normal na in our generation. So I do believe that you can find love through online.”
Peralejo also talked about her realization of the love she deserves.
“I deserve a love that’s peaceful. I deserve a love that makes my heart not beat so fast but makes my heart beat steady.”
