No more online live streaming for Wowowin starting Monday, September 26.
Willie Revillame and the AMBS (Advanced Media Broadcasting System) management have decided to cut off the live streaming of its variety show Wowowin.
In a statement during the program on Monday, Revillame announced that they’ve decided to let go of live streaming on Facebook and YouTube to allow its loyal viewers to watch the show on free TV.
“Wala tayong Facebook at YouTube ngayon kasi ang gusto namin ng AMBS management ay nakatutok kayo sa TV.
“Ang hirap manood sa cell phone kung kayo ho ay nasa biyahe,” the host-producer explained.
The decision came after the dismal TV ratings since ALLTV and Wowowin’s soft launch on September 13.
Wowowin and ALLTV’s soft launch failed to make a mark in terms of online reception and TV ratings.
Based on the rating report from AGB Nielsen NUTAM people data on Thursday, September 15, Wowowin registered an underwhelming 0.0% people rating, unusual TV ratings for Willie Revillame’s show which used to dominate its timeslot during its stint on the GMA network.
Wowowin massively fell behind other variety shows Tropang LOL which scored 2.0%, It’s Showtime with 2.1%, TickToClock getting 3.6%, and Eat Bulaga with 6.0% on the same day.
Will this decision to move away from online broadcast persuade its viewers to switch to free TV and bring life to ALLTV channel? Or will this move shy away more viewers who prefer the more convenient online viewing?
