After a controversial break-up with Barbie Imperial years ago, Paul Salas revealed he overcame his trauma to publicize a relationship with the help of his current girlfriend, Mikee Quintos.
Earlier this May, the former The Lost Recipe stars revealed the real score between them.
In their two-year relationship, Salas and Quintos shared in an October 12 interview–that going public wasn’t easy, especially for Salas.
“Hindi naman binalak itago pero si Paul ‘yung hirap nung una,” said the she said.
Salas talked about his trauma in publicizing his love life because of past relationships, “Medyo may mga trauma ako sa pag public ng relationship. Pero nung sinabi ko po sa kaniya (Mikee), doon po ako nagulat na naiintindihan niya.”
To recall, Salas and Imperial never confirmed their dating status before the break-up rumors, indicating the young actor’s trauma.
She shared that she is there to help him overcome it.
“Sabi ko sa kaniya (Paul), parang ayoko itolerate. Kung nagpapa hold back sa ’yo ‘yung fear mo, ‘yung traumas mo before. When you’re ready, sige mag post tayo. Pero I want you to use us as strength. Para kung hindi mo kinakaya dati mag-isa, may energy ako na pwede mo hugutin para kayanin mo na ngayon. May kakampi ka na.”
The lovebirds did not encounter interference from their management on going public about their relationship.
She shared that her manager is supportive of her love decisions.
Salas and Quintos will reunite in the upcoming Mano Po Legacy: The Flower Sisters to premiere on October 31 on GMA Network.
