On March 30, musician Anton Paras recounted how his friends and family reacted to him being GMA Network’s new artist.
At the media conference for the song Binabalewala, which LionhearTV covered, Paras said that his friends initially doubted his news that he became a Kapuso music artist.
“‘Yung friends ko po nung una, hindi po naniniwala ng sinabi ko na, ‘yung sa post ko po. Parang akala po nila nagloloko lang po ako na, ‘Uy, artist ako ng GMA.’ So parang nag-aano po sila, ‘Di wala, parang biro lang ata ‘yan eh.’ ‘Yung ganon po. Tapos po noong lumabas na po ‘yung mga poster, ‘yung mga blogs, mga websites, ayun parang naniwala na sila na, ‘Uy artista ka na pala. Artist ka na pala talaga ng GMA.'”
As for his family, Paras stated that they felt proud to see him showcase his talent.
“Tapos ‘yung sa family naman po, super proud po sila sa akin and sobrang saya po na–kasi ‘yung family po kasi namin puro singers po talaga. So parang at least mayroong isa na nasa showbiz po para ma-show ‘yung talent.”
He considered his career with GMA Network a blessing, which he is thankful for.
“Ako po siguro super, parang hindi pa rin po ako makapaniwala na nandito na po ako ngayon sa dream ko, ganyan. Super blessed po ako, super thankful po ako kay God and sa GMA po na binigyan po nila ako ng opportunity to show my talent.”
Paras’s Binabalewala dropped on all digital music streaming platforms starting March 31.
His second-penned song, Binabalewala, is under AltG Records, GMA Music’s sub-label.
