After stepping away from the entertainment industry for several years, former Sparkle actress Angel Castro is making a bold return to showbiz—this time under a new screen name and a renewed sense of confidence.

The actress, previously known as Claire Castro, was formally introduced by Viva Entertainment as one of the newest faces of VMX during a media conference on June 11.
Angel explained that the decision to drop her former screen name was largely practical.
“There’s another person named Claire Castro,” she shared, referring to Claire Castro. “Kapag sine-search ang pangalan ko, natatabunan ang mga ginawa ko noon sa GMA.”
To avoid confusion, she decided to use her real name, Angelica, shortened to Angel Castro.
More than a name change, Angel said audiences can expect a completely different version of her.
“Mas ready na ako ngayon. Mas matanda, mas matapang, mas fierce,” she said.
The actress admitted she initially had no plans of returning to entertainment after leaving GMA Network. However, time away from the spotlight helped her mature and rediscover her passion for acting.
“I’m much older now. I’m much more ready. Isalang ninyo ako kahit saan,” she declared.
With a new chapter unfolding through VMX, Angel believes she now possesses the emotional depth and life experiences necessary to take on more challenging roles.
“I feel like my acting has improved. Ngayon mas marami na akong pinaghuhugutan,” she said.
