On May 4, Kapuso actress/fashion icon Heart Evangelista highlighted the importance of investing in self-care and self-love.
At the media event for the endorsement deal between ZION Philippines and Evangelista, which LionhearTV covered, the Kapuso fashion icon voiced the importance of taking care one’s self.
“At the/ end of the day, it’s not just about what you get from the person. It’s also for you– you have to invest in yourself, and this is definitely an investment– you have to put yourself first and take care of yourself before you can do anything else for [other] people. You know it’s love for others and love for yourself.”
She also listed some of her health regimen, which includes fasting, diet, cleansing, and taking vitamins.
Evangelista then recounted how her mindset about self-care changed over the years.
“Yes, definitely. When you’re younger, you don’t really think–I think we’re more of a people pleaser when we/we’re young–we want to be accepted. I mean, I still want to be accepted, but then because of all the struggles in life, you realize your self-worth, so then your self-care or the way you love yourself also changes.
“So you kind/ of bringing up a notch all the time, in terms of vitamins, again investing in yourself, making the /smart choices where you’re going to invest your money because you’re working hard. So it goes up– higher and higher, as you realize how valuable you are to yourself. So definitely, it changes.”
