The highly anticipated upcoming GMA Network TV series, ‘Royal Blood’ is set to capture audiences with its gripping murder mystery narrative and an all-star cast.
Marking Dingdong Dantes’ comeback to the small screen, the show also features the talented duo, Megan Young and Mikael Daez.
Megan Young, during the press conference for the show last May 20th, revealed a surprising contrast between her real-life persona and her character in ‘Royal Blood’. “Makulit talaga kami ni Mikael in general. We have very bubbly and kengkoy personalities in real life,” she shared.
The actress-beauty queen added, “But it’s the complete opposite sa character namin. Natatakot ako kay Mikael whenever nasa eksena kami. Right after the scene, he has this look na medyo dagger look siya. Alam mo na talagang iba yung contrast ng characters naming dalawa sa totoong buhay. So we do have to brush it off and shake things off, but we try to make it light at home.”
Mikael Daez, on the other hand, expressed his happiness and fulfillment in working on ‘Royal Blood.’ “Super happy kami sa work. It feels very fulfilling, and it feels nice to relate to everyone there,” he shared.
He did concede, though, that adjusting to the new routine and filming hours was difficult. After being away from the spotlight for so long, the issue he mentioned was just getting acclimated to the new habit of getting up early.
Reconnecting with her sensitivity in front of the camera was one of the most challenging jobs Megan Young faced. She admits that she finds it difficult to be open and vulnerable while filming because she is not used to it.
Both Young and Daez expressed their pride in being part of ‘Royal Blood’ and reuniting with their co-stars. Mikael shared, “Sobrang proud ako sa show na ‘to dahil napatrabaho yung asawa ko finally after how many years? On a serious note, para sa akin, this is my full teleserye since after the lockdown. It makes it even more special kasi kasama ko si Megan and the people I’m working with.”
Young added, “I’m proud to finally be back again, kasi I had a lot of worries about my health during the pandemic. Ang daming adjustments actually. If anything, I’m just proud to be back and still be working with GMA.”
With such talented actors and an intriguing storyline, ‘Royal Blood’ is set to be another hit series that keeps viewers hooked.
