On June 8, Kapuso star Rhian Ramos recounted her reunion with Dingdong Dantes for the GMA Network series Royal Blood.
At the media conference for Royal Blood, Rhian Ramos recounted her reunion with Dingdong Dantes for the upcoming Kapuso series. Ramos maintained that despite portraying different roles, her off-cam bonding with Dantes remained the same.
“I would say it’s definitely different, kasi the chemistry of the characters are different. But really, behind the scenes, it feels just the same. He is so easy to work with, an amazing actor. And actually, I think we all care so much about what we’re doing na kahit ano mang role ang ibigay, parang we want it to be as realistic as possible.”
She also highlighted her reunion with other Kapuso stars she worked with in the past.
“I really, really enjoyed the character that I portray, Margaret, so thank you so much sa creatives for blessing me with this character.
“But yeah, in general, it’s a reunion with a lot of people that I’ve worked with before, like Mik, and Direk Dom, who has directed so many of my shows in the past. It’s nice to work with him again. I’m also excited that I get to explore working with everyone else for the first time.”
As for her role in the upcoming series, Ramos also shared how much she loves portraying gray characters.
“I really love it. I absolutely love having a gray character because I honestly believe that people in real life are gray. I love the challenge and the intensity na kailangan naming makuha with every scene. I love that she’s feisty. Alam mo ‘yung kakaiba. It’s nice to do ‘yung magkakaibang role, ‘yung hindi siya ‘yung the same as your last because it keeps you on your toes, and there’s always something to explore and learn. I like to learn while I work.”
Ramos and Dantes worked together in the Kapuso drama Stairway to Heaven in 2009, a Filipino adaptation of a Korean series from 2005.
Royal Blood stars Dantes with Megan Young, Dion Ignacio, Mikael Daez, Lianne Valentin, Ramos, Rabiya Mateo, Benjie Paras, Arthur Solinap, Tirso Cruz III, Andrew Schimmer, John Feir, Carmen Soriano, James Graham, Princess Aliyah, Aidan Veneracion, and Sienna Stevens.
The Kapuso murder-mystery series, directed by Dominic Zapata, airs on GMA Network primetime starting June 19.
