On July 22, actor Dennis Padilla talked about healing amid the issues he faces with his kids like Julia Barretto.
During the story conference for their upcoming film ‘Magic Hurts,’ which LionhearTV covered, Padilla highlighted the movie’s theme about healing in connection to the issue he’s facing with his kids.
“Kamukha ng title noong pelikula, pag may hurt, may healing. Doon po pumapasok ‘yung Magic, kasi kapag may sakit, may healing, tapos ‘yun ‘yung Magic niya, kasi galing sa pagmamahal ‘yung love eh.”
He then noted his conversation with Marjorie Barretto’s sister, Claudine, about getting hurt because of the people they love.
“There was one time nga, tinext ko si Claudine, sabi ko, ‘Alam mo Claudine kung bakit tayo nasasaktan? Kasi mahal natin sila eh.’ Di ba pag mahal mo nasasaktan ka.
“Yes, parang ano ba ‘yung natutunan mo ng mabuhay na kasama ‘yung sakit. Oo nakakasanayan mo na.”
Earlier, Padilla sought a Father’s Day greeting from his kids Julia, Claudia, and Leon.
When asked whether he has forgiven his kids, Padilla clarified that he’s the one who should be asking for forgiveness for all his shortcomings as a parent.
“Hindi ko alam kung ako forgiven na eh, pero ako–matagal na, tsaka wala naman ako dapat i-forgive kasi ako ‘yung maraming nagawang pagkukulang. So madalas kung sabihin na ang importante, nasabi mo ‘yung dapat mong sabihin, naparating mo ‘yung message mo, importante ‘yung pagmamahal, nandoon ‘yung magic eh. Nandoon ‘yung magic.”
He then expressed his hopes of mending his relationship with his kids.
“Yes, I’m waiting for that magic. And I hope ‘yung pagmamahal ay nandoon pa rin. Kasi minsan mas lumalalim ang pagmamahal kapag nanggaling kayo sa sakit eh di ba? Mas lumalalim ‘yun. Kaya lang sana soon, kasi I’m not getting any younger, sana soon.
“I’ve been reaching out since 2014, medyo matagal na rin. Almost ten years, nine years, I’ve been reaching out. I hope sila naman ‘yung ano.”
