KD Estrada, Alexa Ilacad react to Karina Bautista’s controversial TV blunder on Pie Channel

Kapamilya young stars KD Estrada and Alexa Ilcad, collectively known as the KDLex loveteam, expressed their strong disapproval of a statement made by Pie Channel jock Karina Bautista.

In separate tweets on Sunday, July 30, Estrada and Ilacad posted brief messages that clearly conveyed their disappointment in Bautista’s remark during their guesting on Pie Channel’s ‘Sino ang manok mo.’

Estrada shared a screenshot of the Spotify song ‘Di Na Babalik’ and tweeted, “hindi na talaga dyan hahahaha,” which could be interpreted as a comment about not returning to the Pie Channel program.

Ilcad, on the other hand, tweeted, “not funny.”

KDLex’s reaction came in response to Bautista’s recent blunder on Pie Channel’s ‘Sino Ang Manok Mo.’ During the show where KDLex and LoiNie (Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte) were guests, Bautista and Zendee were tasked with picking a team between the two loveteams. At the signal of Bayani Agbayani, the two girls rushed to choose the White team (LoiNie), but Zendee got the white shirt before Bautista, leaving her with no choice but to settle for the Red team (KDLex).

During their exchange, Bautista teased Zendee after the latter revealed that she’s a fan of Loisa, explaining why she rushed to get the white shirt. Bautista quipped, “Uy ayaw mo ba sa KDLex? Hala ka mababash ka ng fans hahahaha.” This statement didn’t sit well with KDLex fans, who called it rude and disrespectful.

Fans took to Twitter to express their displeasure, with one user tweeting, “@nosetraa said, ‘Sbi mo “Ayaw mo sa KDLex? hala ka ibabash ka ng fans” sabay tawa. This remark makes unwarranted assumptions about our fandom, which is offensive. Prang pnaparating mo na ibbash si Zndee dhl lang hnd nya pinili, ayaw na sa KDLex? kaya ibabash siya ng mga fans. San ka nanggagaling?'”

Former PBB housemate Justin Dizon also chimed in, urging Pie Channel to hire better hosts who know how to respect their guests, saying, “PIE Channel should hire better hosts who can actually host, may natural wit, at hindi pilit ang humor. Common sense dictates that guests and their fandom are the lifeblood of the channel—tapos binwisit niyo. Paano dadagdag ang viewership? Sayang yung talent fee at airtime.”

Bautista responded on Twitter, defending herself from the backlash she received.

She clarified, “please watch po for reference before tagging me, to clarify lang po hindi po ako ang nagsabi ng ‘lampa’ or even gave that idea, pero i acknowledge my mistake for not correcting this when it was said.”

KDLex and LoiNie were guests on the Pie Channel program to promote their latest afternoon teleserye, “Pira-pirasong Paraiso,” one of the two collaboration projects between ABS-CBN Entertainment and TV5.

“Pira-pirasong Paraiso” aired Monday through Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, and Kapamilya Online Live.
