On September 28, Kapamilya star Richard Gutierrez attested that he went all out with the action scenes in ‘The Iron Heart.’
At the media conference for the finale of ‘The Iron Heart,’ which LionhearTV covered, Gutierrez affirmed how he gave his all in the action scenes for the series, noting their goals of changing the landscape of the action genre in the country.
“I think you’re only as good as your last project. So for me, all out ako dito, binigay ko lahat sa The Iron Heart.
“And ‘yun nga from the [very] beginning, ang vision namin dito is to change the landscape of action in the Philippines. ‘Yun talaga ‘yung vision namin from the start. Like what Direk said, we had a lot of constraints, time, budget, everything.”
He also acknowledged the hard work the production put into ‘The Iron Heart’ in creating quality action scenes.
“Siyempre kapag sinabi mo na, I want to change the landscape of action, ang daling sabihin nun, ang daling i-imagine, i-visualize, di ba? But to actually do it, day in and day out, sacrifice everything for the show, doon ako bilib sa buong team namin.”
Their hard work paid off, with ‘The Iron Heart’ logging record-breaking viewership multiple times in September, especially when the series reached 451,538 peak concurrent viewers. The Kapamilya action series also secured 8.1% TV ratings based on the recent NUTAM survey.
Admittedly, Gutierrez felt surprised by the overwhelming impact of their Kapamilya action series.
“Kung nagugulat man ako sa success, yes there is a part of me na, ‘Wow, hanggang ngayon–one year on, we’re still doing quite well. [To be] honest, with the team that we have, you can really achieve greatness. Sa team na mayroon kami, you know from everyone, down the line sa The Iron Heart, talagang all in.
“So I’m very proud of the show, I’m [very] proud of the whole team, and we’re [very] happy na naging iconic din ang The Iron Heart sa landscape ng TV.”
