Filipino film director Cathy Garcia found herself caught in the crossfire of social media speculations when rumors circulated that she had unfollowed actor Daniel Padilla amidst alleged issues involving KathNiel and Andrea Brillantes.
Setting the record straight, the box office director of KathNiel movies addressed the issue by asserting, “Mga bakla huwag niyo na po ako idamay dito” and clarified that there was no truth to the claim that she unfollowed Daniel Padilla.
“Wala talaga kayong makikitang supremo dj sa followed ko kasi hindi ko naman siya fina-follow noon pa. Di ko alam totoong account niya kasi. 20 nga lang fina follow ko e. Noon pa. Kaya Huwag na po nating gawing issue,” she explained.

Garcia emphasized that she was not following Daniel Padilla on social media even before the recent controversy, urging people not to turn it into an issue.
The speculation arose in the wake of rumors involving KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla) and Andrea Brillantes. Veteran showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz had mentioned unverified claims of issues between Daniel and Kathryn, linking Daniel to Andrea Brillantes.
Cathy Garcia, known for her successful collaborations with Daniel Padilla in films like ‘She’s Dating the Gangster’ (2014) and ‘The Hows of Us’ (2018), expressed her frustration at being unwittingly involved in the controversy.
