Julie Anne San Jose has expressed openness to working again with her former on-screen partner Elmo Magalona, years after their popular “JuliElmo” tandem captured the hearts of fans.
During an interview with Boy Abunda alongside her boyfriend Rayver Cruz on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’, the Kapuso singer-actress was asked if she would be willing to collaborate with Elmo again should the opportunity arise.
Without hesitation, Julie Anne replied, “Oo naman.”
She also took the opportunity to clarify that despite their successful love team, she and Elmo were never romantically involved in real life.
“No, Tito Boy. But Elmo and I, we’re really, really good friends. Elmo is a very nice guy, sobrang talented, at kung magkaroon ng collaboration, why not?”
Julie Anne said that they have remained close friends even after the height of the “JuliElmo” phenomenon, emphasizing the mutual respect they continue to have for each other.
Her remarks echoed Elmo’s own statements during his March 2026 appearance on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’, where he likewise dismissed rumors that they had ever been a real-life couple.
Asked if he was open to reuniting with Julie Anne on screen, Elmo immediately responded: “Yeah! We could.”
He added that he would welcome the chance to collaborate again.
“We could see something like that happen. We’ll try to stay in touch with her, or try to contact her.”
Elmo also clarified that their relationship was strictly platonic during the years they worked together.
“No. We were very good friends [who] really wanted to help each other, bring our careers up during that time.”
He further denied ever courting Julie Anne, saying he simply admired her dedication and professionalism.
“Not really. We both have the same vision. I really admire her work ethics din, sobrang sipag and responsible ni Julie.”
Meanwhile, Julie Anne and Rayver also shared that they have no issues about each other’s former love team partners.
According to the couple, their relationship is built on trust and respect, making past on-screen pairings a non-issue.
When Boy Abunda asked whether they ever talk about their exes, Julie Anne candidly answered yes. Rayver, however, clarified that such conversations only happen when Julie Anne brings up the topic.
“Hindi siya out of nowhere na nag-reminisce ka lang. Kasi for me, baka hindi ka super super in love sa partner mo,” Rayver explained.
