The highly anticipated return of Claudine Barretto to the small screen is set to happen on November 20 with the premiere of ‘Lovers/Liars,’ a collaboration between GMA Network and Regal Entertainment.
This comeback project for the Optimum Star will take over the time slot of ‘Unbreak My Heart,’ a groundbreaking collaboration involving GMA Network, ABS-CBN/Dreamscape Entertainment, and Viu Philippines.
The title suggests a narrative centered around love and deception, sparking speculations that ‘Lovers/Liars’ may become a contender to the currently popular series ‘Linlang’ on Prime Video, featuring Paulo Avelino, JM De Guzman, and Kim Chiu.
Claudine Barretto’s return to the Kapuso Network follows her stint as a contract artist, marking a significant comeback after a prolonged hiatus from television projects.
Known as one of the soap opera queens during the 90s on ABS-CBN, Claudine Barretto boasts an impressive repertoire, including iconic series such as ‘Mula sa Puso,’ ‘Saan Ka Man Naroroon,’ ‘Dulo ng Walang Hanggan,’ and ‘Iisa Pa Lamang.’
According to the poster, Claudine’s leading men in ‘Lovers/Liars’ are Yasser Marta, Christian Vasquez and Polo Ravales.
The cast also features Lianne Valentin, recognized for her role as a mistress in the afternoon series ‘Apoy sa Langit’ alongside Zoren Legaspi, Maricel Laxa, and Mikee Quintos.
Joining the ensemble is Michelle Vito, a Star Magic artist, breaking into a Kapuso series. This aligns with the recent trend of artists like Joem Bascon (Black Rider), KaladKaren (Frontline Pilipinas on TV5), and Dimples Romana (Gud Morning Kapatid on TV5), who are permitted to take on projects across different TV networks.
