The Kapamilya noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’ achieved a historic milestone by securing its first-ever victory in the ratings battle against heavyweight competitors ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ and ‘Eat Bulaga!’
As per the latest ratings report from the Nielsen NUTAM People survey, ‘It’s Showtime’ clinched its first win following the ABS-CBN shutdown on Saturday, December 16. The episode garnered a rating of 4.5 percent, surpassing ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ by 0.3 percent and outpacing ‘Eat Bulaga!’ by a notable 1.6 percent.
This momentous triumph coincided with the special appearance of Kapuso King and Queen, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, who graced the show to promote their Star Cinema movie ‘Rewind,’ a part of the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival.
The show’s ratings surge was further fueled by the popularity of its new segment, ‘EXpecially For You,’ which consistently trended on social media, solidifying the program’s dominance in online viewership.
Prior to claiming the top spot, ‘It’s Showtime’ had already secured the runner-up position for two consecutive days, starting on Thursday, December 14, when it tied with ‘Eat Bulaga!’ at 3.1 percent. On the subsequent day, Friday, December 15, ‘It’s Showtime’ claimed the solo number 2 spot with a 3.0 percent rating, surpassing ‘Eat Bulaga!’ by 0.2 percent.
