On January 19, Kapuso stars Teejay Marquez, Myrtle Sarrosa, Kristoffer Martin, and Royce Cabrera reacted to the recent rise in ratings of their GMA Afternoon Prime series, Makiling.
At the GMA Regional TV media event for Sinulog 2024, which LionhearTV covered, Marquez thanked their viewers for the warm reception of their GMA Afternoon series.
“Unang-una po, nagpapasalamat po kami kasi, oo nga eh– ako po first ko po na project with GMA Afternoon Prime, tapos kasama pa ‘tong mga ‘to na sobrang ang gagaling at tsaka nakatrabaho ko na rin before. Sobrang happy ako and excited. And sobrang akong nagpapasalamat sa init ng pagtanggap ng mga viewers natin.”
Sarrosa remarked how much she appreciated Makiling’s TV ratings.
“Sobra, nakakataba ng puso na ang taas ng aming ratings ngayon. So consistently, high ‘yung ratings and I’m very grateful. Lahat ng paghihirap na pinagdaanan namin while shooting the series, hanggang ngayon, parang naging worth it kasi grabe, ang init talaga ng mga reactions ng mga tao. Lahat talaga ng mga tao nadadala sa kwento ng Makiling.”
As of January 24, Makiling got a 7.6 rating based on NUTAM People Ratings (Nielsen Phils. TAM)’s Preliminary/Overnight Data.
Martin appreciated the feedback they received from the Kapuso audience, especially with the Crazy Five.
“Kapag lumalabas po kami, lahat po ng tao, ‘Nakakainis kayo.’ Lahat sila, Dati ang bait ng image namin, ngayon lahat naiinis na sa amin dahil sa mga pinaggagagawa namin kay Almira. Well, masaya po ‘yung feedback na ‘yun. That means nagagawa po namin ‘yung characters naming lima. Tsaka ‘yun, happy ako sana maging consistent yung ratings pa rin. At hindi po namin kayo bibiguin kasi mas palala ng palala ‘yung mga mangyayari sa mga susunod na gagawin namin.”
Cabrera hoped that the Kapuso viewers would continue supporting their series.
“Masaya ako kasi, tulad nga ng sinabi nila, ‘yung taping namin sa Makiling eh talagang mahirap. Mahirap ‘yung eksena, ‘yung location, mahirap. Kaya happy kami na nakikita naming nagsu-suportahan ‘yung mga viewers namin. And ‘yun sana magtuloy-tuloy pa rin ‘yung magandang ratings ng Makiling. Suportahan ninyo po sana.”
Earlier, GMA Sparkle Artists Jennylyn Mercado (Love. Die. Repeat), Gabby Concepcion, Max Collins (My Guardian Alien), Myrtle Sarrosa, Kristoffer Martin, Royce Cabrera, Teejay Marquez (Makiling), Ken Chan, Kazel Kinouchi (Abot Kamay na Pangarap), Kate Valdez, and Joaquin Domagoso celebrated the Sinulog 2024 in Cebu City from January 19 to January 21 with Kapuso Cebuanos.
As for Makiling, the Kapuso afternoon series stars Elle Villanueva, Derrick Monasterio, Myrtle Sarrosa, Royce Cabrera, Kristoffer Martin, Teejay Marquez, and Claire Castro.
