On February 13, Vivamax stars Angela Morena and Dyessa Garcia recounted the challenge of filming their love scene in front of a live theater audience.
At the media conference for the Vivamax movie Kabit, which LionhearTV covered, Morena attested to the mettle and grit theater actors possess in committing and portraying their characters.
“Yes, may eksena ako doon na during the love scene, talagang may mga nanonood sila. Kasi ‘yung shot was reverse shot, so nandito ‘yung camera sa likod, nandito kami sa harap, and there were people in front of us. So isa rin ‘yun sa mga challenge doon.
“Kaya sa mga theater actors, saludo po ako sa inyo.”
Garcia noted that it was her first time doing a love scene and no less on a theater stage.
“First time po siguro namin na mag-love scene sa stage, sa entablado talaga. Kaya parang na-experience, na-experience namin ‘yun na ay kakaibang experience. Hindi po kagaya sa iba na nakikita natin. Kaya po mas kaabang-abang siyang panoorin kasi kakaiba po talaga siya.”
Morena then cited how their co-star, theater actor Onyl Torres, guided them behind the scenes.
“Buti na lang po, pinakita po sa amin ni Onyl kung paano po gawin.
“I think it’s more natural that way as a theater actor, without the plaster. You have to work into a way na you have this passion–you have this dream, kaya alam mo kung ano ‘yung gusto mo– and that goes with my character.”
Garcia then noted some behind-the-scenes challenges they encountered while doing their intimate sequences on a theater stage.
“Okay naman po, pero dahil po kailangan po talaga mag-plaster, kasi hindi naman po maiiwasan na may madikit, kaya kailangan po talaga. And sa mga movements po talaga kailangan may plaster po talaga.”
As for their upcoming Vivamax movie, Kabit stars Angela Morena, Victor Relosa, Josef Elizalde, Dyessa Garcia, and Onyl Torres.
Under the direction of Law Fajardo, Kabit streams on February 23 via the Vivamax streaming platform.
