Cristine Reyes finds herself less than amused by the playful banter from her friends concerning her past comments about Marco Gumabao.
The actress, now in a relationship with Gumabao, revisited this topic during their recent appearance on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.’
Reyes openly admitted that she did not stand firm by her previous statements when she was romantically linked with Marco, who is now her boyfriend.
The couple recalled an interview with Tito Boy in 2019 when Reyes, who was 30 at the time, referred to Marco as just a “friend” and quipped, “Ano ako, cougar?”
This catchphrase quickly went viral, sparking widespread memes.
“Kasi noong time na ‘yon, talaga namang way younger si Marco sa akin. Feeling ko, kung tatanungin mo ako noong time na ‘yun, same answer pa rin. Pero ngayon kasi…” explained Cristine.
Marco joined in, revealing that Cristine gets irritated when friends send her viral memes about her previous statement. “All her friends were messaging her, naiinis siya, napipikon talaga siya. Kasi kapag nakikita mo ‘yung hitsura niya napipikon siya kapag sine-send ng mga tao o inasar siya. Parang kinain niya ‘yung sinabi niya,” shared Marco, with a chuckle.
“Pero okay lang naman ‘yun. Ganoon talaga tayo na we say things na binabawi natin,” Marco added.
Cristine responded, “Kaya sobrang careful na ako na magsalita kasi baka bumalik ulit sa akin.”
When asked about discussing marriage, Marco confirmed, “Basta ang usapan namin, is ‘yung future together. Pero ‘yung details, of course pakaunti-unti, pero ‘yung longer view ‘yun ang napag-uusapan,” added the actor.
