On February 6, Sparkle artists Marco Masa and Ashley Sarmiento discussed their showbiz journey as Kapamilya child stars to becoming the newest Kapuso love team.
At the media event for their social media serye Sparkle Tiktok Kilig Series, which LionhearTV covered, Sarmiento and Masa recounted working on Kapamilya shows such as Goin’ Bulilit and Maalaala Mo Kaya.
Aside from their projects together, they also noted their shows as child stars, including Nathaniel and Flordeliza.Â
Masa and Sarmiento also reacted to people’s positive response to their on-screen pairing.Â
Masa highlighted how their love team worked because of their 10-year friendship.
“Basta, everytime po na magkasama kami, off-cam. Talagang sobrang saya na po namin. Geniune namin sa isa’t-isa. Kasi ayun nga po, kagaya ng sabi ko kanina, more than a decade na kami magkakilala. Parang kilala na po namin kung paano mag-work ‘yung isa’t-isa at magagamit po namin ‘yun para mas ma-improve po kami as a love team and as an individual po.”
Sarmiento also attested to their off-screen bond, which helped their on-screen pairing.
“Kung ano po ‘yung nakikita ninyo ngayon or sa TV, or sa social media, ganon na ganon din po kami ni Marco. Behind the camera. I’m really just happy na I can be with someone I can trust with.Â
“Over a decade na po ‘yung friendship namin eh, sobrang kilalang-kilala ko na po siya.”
As for their three-part-online show, the Sparkle GMA Artist Center in partnership with Tiktok launches the Sparkle Tiktok Kilig Series this February 8 with three love stories titled Secret Notes, Beyond the Game, and Mystery Girl.
Secret Notes stars Marco Masa and Ashley Sarmiento. Their episode runs from February 8 to February 14.Â
Beyond the Game stars Bryce Eusebio and Princess Aliyah. It lasts from February 16 to February 22.Â
Mystery Girl stars Allen Ansay and Sofia Pablo and streams from February 24 to 29.
