Former child star Jiro Manio found a valuable lesson while appearing in LILY’s ‘Magbalik’ music video: the importance of moving forward in life.
“Tulad nang mundong hindi tumitigil, ‘diba? So, siguro bawat isa kailangan tuluy-tuloy tayo, kahit sinong tao, huwag tayong magpadala sa mga nakaka-down na problema,” he shared in an exclusive interview with LionhearTV.
Despite achieving success at a young age, life presented challenges for the 2004 Gawad Urian Best Actor. Now 31, Manio faced significant hurdles that nearly left him with nothing.
In 2011, he grappled with substance abuse and sought rehabilitation. Additionally, the former child star was arrested in 2020 for alleged involvement in a frustrated homicide case.
“Siguro kailangan panghawakan natin ‘yung kung saan tayo mas matututo para makaahon sa buhay,” Manio added.
He is now gradually rebuilding his life. In a ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ interview on January 19, Manio revealed that he now volunteers at a rehabilitation center in Bataan.
Presently, the ‘Magnifico’ star is open to new opportunities, including starring in music videos. He recently appeared in OPM band LILY’s music video for their rendition of ‘Magbalik.’
The revamped version of the song will feature a fresh introduction and additional lyrics, with the music video set to premiere this month.
