Following the departure of TAPE Inc.’s midday show ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya,’ GMA Network introduced its latest noontime program, ‘Lunchtime Movie Hits.’ The key question is how well it fared in TV ratings.

According to the most recent ratings report from the Nielsen NUTAM People survey, the Kapuso noontime program struggled to surpass its formidable competitors, ‘It’s Showtime’ and ‘EAT…Bulaga.’
On March 8, LMH premiered with the screening of the Vice Ganda blockbuster ‘The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin.’ However, it fell short of its rivals, garnering a rating of 3.3 percent. This was 0.5 percent lower than ‘It’s Showtime’s’ 3.8 percent and 1.1 percent below the noontime leader ‘EAT…Bulaga,’ which secured a rating of 4.4 percent.
LMH serves as the Kapuso network’s replacement for the now-defunct noontime show ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya,’ which aired its final episode on March 7. On its last airing, ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya’ remained at the bottom of the noontime ranking with a score of 2.7 percent, trailing ‘It’s Showtime’ by 0.9 percent (3.6 percent) and ‘EAT…Bulaga’ by 1.6 percent (4.3 percent).
However, during its weekend episode, LMH experienced a significant rebound, surpassing both ‘It’s Showtime’ and ‘EAT…Bulaga.’
Showcasing the KathNiel movie ‘The Hows of Us,’ LMH achieved a rating of 4.4 percent, outpacing ‘EAT…Bulaga’ by 0.1 percent (4.3 percent) and leading ‘It’s Showtime’ by 0.6 percent (3.8 percent).
The question now is whether this positive trend for LMH will continue or if the two heavyweight noontime shows will reclaim their former positions.
