After the successful appearance of NBA legend Richard Hamilton at the vivo concept store in SM Mall of Asia last year to kick off the collaboration between vivo and the NBA, on April 17th of last year, vivo brought 5-time NBA Champion Derek Fisher for a meet and greet with his fans at their concept store in SM Megamall.
Selected fans and members had the opportunity to meet Fisher and have their memorabilia signed.
Before the meet and greet, Fisher had the chance to share his basketball career and coaching roles in the NBA with the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Sparks. Besides his on-court activities, Fisher has also ventured into investments and producing documentaries.
During his interview, he shared good advice with his fans about focus and dedication in fulfilling their dreams, especially those who wanted to enter sports. Fisher, who has already coached in both the NBA and school varsity, emphasized the importance of genuine love for the game, not just for the game itself, but for the practice, workouts, hours in the gym, and conditioning of the mind and body.
“Love the process of trying to become the best. It’s about working hard, having faith that you will get there at some point if you keep working,” he added.
