GMA Network’s historical war-drama “Pulang Araw” continues to lag behind the top-rated Kapamilya action-drama series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo (FPJBQ).”

According to the most recent Nielsen NUTAM People survey ratings, “Pulang Araw” has not been able to surpass FPJBQ’s primetime dominance, even showing a downward trend in its pilot week.

On Monday, July 29, the Kapuso primetime series debuted with a rating of 12.8 percent, securing the number 3 spot on the overall ratings board. In contrast, FPJBQ remained at the top with a rating of 16.8 percent.

By Tuesday, July 30, “Pulang Araw” dropped by 1.7 percent to 11.1 percent but held its number 3 position. FPJBQ, meanwhile, maintained its 16.8 percent rating, widening the gap to 5.7 percent and keeping its number one spot.

Midweek, on Wednesday, July 31, “Pulang Araw” held steady at 11.1 percent, remaining in 3rd place. FPJBQ saw an increase to 17.3 percent, expanding its lead to 6.2 percent.

On Thursday, August 1, “Pulang Araw” experienced another dip, decreasing by 0.2 percent to 10.9 percent but staying at number 3. FPJBQ also dropped by 1.4 percent to 15.4 percent, reducing the rating gap to 4.3 percent.

Finally, on Friday, August 2, “Pulang Araw” fell further to its lowest rating of the week at 10.3 percent, while FPJBQ rose by 0.3 percent to 15.7 percent, increasing the gap to 5.4 percent.

Despite the challenges, “Pulang Araw” has maintained its position as the number one TV show on Netflix Philippines since its premiere.
