Stell Ajero, the lead singer and choreographer of the P-pop group SB19, is set to take on a new role as a coach on the upcoming season of ‘The Voice Kids,’ which premieres tomorrow night.
Joining him as returning coaches are Julie Anne San Jose and Billy Crawford, with Dingdong Dantes resuming his role as host. Notably, SB19’s Pablo will also make his debut as a new coach on the show.
At a recent media conference, Stell shared his thoughts on the upcoming season and his approach to coaching the young contestants. Reflecting on his success with ‘The Voice Generations,’ where his team Vocalmyx clinched victory, Stell emphasized that he is not feeling pressured to replicate that achievement. Instead, his focus is on ensuring that the children enjoy their time on the show and make the most of the unique opportunity.
“Honestly, I don’t feel pressured. My focus is on enjoying the experience and helping the kids make the most of it. I don’t want people to expect my team to win again this season,” Stell stated. “Instead, I want the children to relish the opportunity, as it’s something unique they won’t experience again. I didn’t have the chance to participate in a singing contest when I was younger, so I want them to feel free from pressure and work together as a team.”

Stell also acknowledged that mentoring children presents different challenges compared to his previous experience with adults. Although he has experience guiding younger family members, he recognizes that mentoring aspiring young singers requires a distinct approach. He aims to encourage and support their growth while respecting their individual aspirations.
“While I have experience being around young family members, mentoring kids with big dreams is a different experience. My goal is to encourage them and help them grow without negatively impacting their dreams,” he said. “The real challenge will be guiding them during the ‘Blind Auditions’ and making tough decisions in the ‘Battle Rounds’ and beyond. It’s akin to being a parent who must make difficult choices. However, I believe my previous experience has honed my decision-making skills. At the end of the day, this is still a competition.”
Stell encourages the young contestants to give their best and prove their dedication to the competition. He is committed to helping them achieve their goals and is prepared to tackle the challenges of the show. Stell expressed his hope that, like the contestants, he too would realize his dreams for the show, working together to make the most of this opportunity.
“I encourage them to give their best because each child has their own dream, and some might be bigger than others. I want them to demonstrate that they deserve to be in the competition, and I will do everything in my power to help them reach their goals. It’s a big challenge, but I’m ready for it. Like them, I have dreams for this show, and I hope we can achieve those dreams together,” Stell concluded.
‘The Voice Kids,’ produced by ITV Studios, will air on GMA Network every Sunday night at 7:05 PM. The talent reality show features young singers aged 7 to 14 and promises to showcase a new generation of musical talent.
