Award-winning actor Christian Bables has once again addressed long-running speculation about his sexuality, making it clear that he is no longer bothered by public assumptions and believes that a person’s sexual orientation should not be a subject of public scrutiny.

In an interview with PUSH, Bables said he has learned to accept that people will always have their own perceptions regardless of what he says or does.
“Sa akin, okay lang kasi hindi naman ako affected talaga ng kahit ano mang naririnig ko,” he shared.
The actor explained that no amount of clarification can change the minds of people who have already formed their own opinions.
“Kahit na tumambling ka diyan, hugutin mo ang mata mo sa eye socket mo, hindi mo mababago ang perception ng tao sa’yo,” he said. “Kung ito ang standards nila ng pagiging straight at pagiging hindi, you can never change that.”
Bables emphasized that while he respects other people’s opinions, there should also be boundaries when it comes to discussing another person’s private life.
“I respect that,” he said. “Pero ang sekswalidad ng isang tao is none of your business.”
According to the actor, questions about a person’s sexuality are only relevant when they directly affect someone’s personal relationship with that individual.
“Unless may balak kang asawahin ang taong ‘yun o may magandang maidudulot sa’yo ang information tungkol sa sexuality niya, dapat hindi siya itinatanong,” he explained.
“Hindi ikaw ang magmamahal, hindi ikaw ang may preference, kundi sila. Ibigay ninyo sa mga tao ‘yun. That’s their thing to keep.”
Beyond addressing the rumors, Christian also reiterated his continued support for the LGBTQIA+ community, a cause he has long championed throughout his career.
“Never get tired of standing and fighting for what you believe is right,” he said. “Walang ibang titindig para sa inyo o para sa mga parte ng komunidad kundi tayo.”

The actor described himself as a proud ally and stressed the importance of continuously advocating for inclusivity and acceptance.
“I’m a proud ally, and I guess it’s safe to include myself. Walang ibang titindig sa kung ano man ang pinaglalaban natin kung hindi tayo.”
This is not the first time Bables has clarified his identity. During a 2022 interview with Ogie Diaz, he openly identified himself as heterosexual.
“I identify as a straight guy, straight man. My preference and my attraction is with the opposite sex,” he stated at the time.
Christian first gained widespread acclaim for his transformative performance in the acclaimed film ‘Die Beautiful’, where he portrayed a transgender woman. The role earned him numerous awards and established him as one of the country’s most versatile actors.
Now, nearly a decade later, Bables returns to familiar territory through the upcoming film ‘Drags to Riches’, where he once again explores drag culture alongside Inigo Pascual and Elijah Canlas.
Set to open in SM Cinemas on June 24, the film marks another bold chapter in Christian’s career—one that continues to challenge perceptions while reinforcing his belief that talent, artistry, and humanity matter far more than labels.
