Kapuso’s crime-mystery thriller “Widows’ War” is not yet raising the white flag against ABS-CBN’s newest revenge teleserye, “Lavender Fields.”

After nearly a week of being overshadowed, the Bea Alonzo and Carla Abellana-led series managed to secure a single-day victory, spoiling the pilot week of Jodi Sta. Maria’s “Lavender Fields,” according to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey ratings.

On Friday, September 6, “Widows’ War” recorded an aggregated rating (including delayed telecasts) of 9.1 percent, edging out “Lavender Fields,” which garnered 8.9 percent.

Will “Widows’ War” be able to maintain this momentum against its new rival? Let’s see.

Meanwhile, before this breakthrough, “Widows’ War” faced consistent defeats at the hands of “Lavender Fields.”

On its debut episode on Monday, September 2, “Lavender Fields” scored an impressive 9.9 percent, 0.7 percent higher than “Widows’ War’s” 9.2 percent.

The following day, Tuesday, September 3, “Lavender Fields” dipped slightly to 9.0 percent but still led its timeslot, defeating “Widows’ War,” which posted 8.8 percent.

By midweek, on Wednesday, September 4, “Lavender Fields” bounced back with a 10.0 percent rating, a 1.0 percent increase, maintaining a 1.2 percent lead over “Widows’ War,” which held steady at 8.8 percent.

On Thursday, September 5, both shows maintained their previous ratings, with “Lavender Fields” at 10.0 percent and “Widows’ War” at 8.8 percent.
