Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates continues to make significant strides in sustainable development, as evidenced by its recent achievements at the Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC) Leadership in the Green Building Awards 2024.

Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates wins Leadership in Sustainable Design and Performance at the PHILGBC Leadership in the Green Building Awards 2024

LIMA Estate was awarded, for the second time, the Leadership in Sustainable Design and Performance award. This prestigious honour recognizes projects that exemplify a holistic approach to sustainability, yielding significant environmental and social benefits.

“This award underscores our commitment to pioneering green building practices that set new benchmarks for sustainability,” stated Jolan Formalejo, Vice President for Inventory Generation at Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates. “We strive to integrate environmental, social, and economic considerations into every facet of our projects, from design and construction to operation and maintenance.”

(From Left to Right) Bonifacio Estate Services Corporation General Manager Ernest Albert Pascual, NEO Chief Executive Officer Raymond Rufino, Damosa Land, Inc. President Ricardo “Cary” Lagdameo, Aboitiz Infracapital Economic Estates Vice President for Inventory Generation Jolan Formalejo, and Cebu Landmasters, Inc. Assistant Vice President for Technical Planning Department Francis Rodriguez joined together to share their strategies on integrating meaningful community engagement in urban planning.

At the Building Green 2024 conference, Jolan Formalejo also shared insights into the company’s vision for the next generation of smart and sustainable industrial estates in the Philippines. He highlighted numerous sustainability efforts, including initiatives to decarbonize its estates, reduce energy dependency, the smart and efficient use of water, and the sustainable development and construction practices within the Economic Estates. A panel discussion also took place, alongside leading developers in the country to discuss community involvement in urban planning. The panel emphasised the importance of engaging with stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities and ensure that development projects align with community goals.

LIMA Estate, the Philippines’ first and largest 5-star BERDE-District certified development, spans 940-hectares 187 locators and 71,000 employees. Located in Lipa-Malvar, Batangas, the PEZA-registered Economic Estate features a 70-hectare commercial district that integrates commercial lots, retail spaces, office buildings, residential areas, dormitories, institutional facilities, and hospitality services, along with a transport terminal.

The culmination of the event was the PHILGBC Leadership in Green Building Awards ceremony, where LIMA Estate’s recognition further solidified its position as a pioneer in the field. This accolade also positions LIMA Estate to proudly represent the Philippines as a regional nominee for the World Green Building Council’s Asia Pacific Leadership in Green Building Awards.

Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates’ commitment to environmental stewardship is evident in its continued efforts to create sustainable, resilient, and inclusive communities. By prioritizing climate action, health, and resource circularity, the company is not just setting a new standard for industrial development in the Philippines; it is paving the way for a greener, more sustainable future for all.
