Kapamilya stars Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano opened up about identifying “red flags” in their relationship during the press conference for their much-awaited ABS-CBN primetime series, ‘How To Spot A Red Flag’.
The tandem, popularly known as DonBelle, shared their candid insights about working together for years, revealing how they’ve come to understand each other’s personalities, quirks, and even their “red flags.”
When asked if they had noticed any red flags about one another, Donny admitted, “Siyempre, may nakita kami [red flags], di ba? But it’s not the type of red flag na ayaw mo nang makasama or ganun. It’s more like the usual stuff everyone has.”
Belle playfully pointed out one of Donny’s tendencies: “Alam ko yung sa’yo. Umiinit ang ulo niya kapag hindi siya kumakain.”
Donny laughed and countered with his own observation: “Ikaw rin, ah!” He went on to admit that he can become moody when he lacks sleep or food, adding, “Nagiging easily triggered ako. But it’s something I try to manage.”
The pair agreed that addressing red flags requires open communication and understanding.
“Everyone has it, and it’s all about communication,” Donny explained. “As long as it’s not to a point where you’re already hurting each other or can’t work together, it’s manageable. The type of red flags we have, we talk about and go through them.”
Belle echoed this sentiment, stating, “Lahat naman tayo may red flags. Minsan, hindi tayo aware na meron tayo. What matters is being open about it and working through it together.”
Donny reflected on the show’s themes, emphasizing how understanding a person’s background helps in addressing perceived red flags. “Before seeing a person as a red flag, you have to understand what they’ve been through. That’s why they are the way they are.”
Belle added, “There are no bad people. People make decisions because of their experiences or the situations they’re in.”
‘How To Spot A Red Flag’, which previously streamed on Viu, will make its ABS-CBN primetime debut on January 27. The series explores themes of relationships, self-awareness, and personal growth, offering viewers a relatable and insightful narrative.
