Kapamilya actress and content creator Ivana Alawi has shut down rumors about her alleged cancer diagnosis, assuring her fans that she is in good health and has fully recovered from a recent illness.
Speaking at her thanksgiving event at Vinta Modern Carinderia in Quezon City on March 7, Ivana addressed the speculation that had spread on social media.
“Walang katotohanan na nagka-cancer ako. Hindi ‘yun true, huwag kayong mag-alala,” she said, laughing off the rumors.
Ivana clarified that she had recently suffered from the flu due to her busy schedule but has since recovered completely.
“Actually, ito lang, noong last week, nagkatrangkaso. Kasi, kapag sunud-sunod talaga ang trabaho. So far, yun pa lang. [I’m] much better now.”
She also shared that the false reports had caused unnecessary worry for her mother.
“Yung mama ko, nag-alala dun. Sabi ko, ‘Ma, huwag kang mag-alala, wala tayo niyan.’
During the media gathering, Ivana was asked about the most serious health issue she has faced, recalling a time when she underwent a life-threatening medical emergency last year.
“It took a month to recover,” she shared. “Bawal kumilos, bawal mag-gym kaya siguro nagkalaman ako. Pero happy naman ako, wala akong pakialam diyan, basta healthy, yun ang importante sa akin.”
Her health scare made her realize the importance of living a fulfilled life beyond material wealth.
“Lahat ng materyal, lahat ng pera… pakasaya ka sa buhay mo. Kapag kinuha ka ni Lord, wala kang maisasama. Yung mga bag mo, mga pera mo, hindi mo maisasama kaya enjoy-in mo lang and surround yourself with your loved ones.”
Last November, Ivana was rushed to the hospital due to a serious medical condition affecting her ovaries, which led to fluid buildup in her abdomen.
In a YouTube vlog titled “HOSPITAL,” she revealed the painful experience and announced that all proceeds from the vlog would be donated to help patients struggling with medical bills.
“Ipapakita ko sa inyo ang isa sa pinakamahirap na journey ko sa buong buhay ko. Sa lahat ng dinanas ko sa buhay, isa ito sa mga pinakamatindi na pain [na naranasan ko]. Feeling ko nagpaalam pa nga ako sa mama ko.”
Doctors had to insert a drain into her stomach, as two liters of fluid were pressing against her lungs, making it difficult for her to breathe.
“Day by day sa ospital umaangat ‘yung fluid sa tiyan ko. Hindi ako buntis. ‘Yung sakit, hindi na ako makahinga, konting lakad ko lang parang hihimatayin na ako, nanlalamig na buong katawan ko.”
Ivana emphasized the importance of seeking medical attention immediately, urging her followers to take care of their health.
“Guys, kung may maramdaman kayong sakit, magpacheck kayo agad. Huwag niyo hintayin lumala. Siguro kung hindi ako pumunta ng ospital, wala na talaga ako.”
Adding to the controversy, self-proclaimed visionary Rudy Baldwin recently made headlines after claiming in an interview on ‘Rated K’ with Korina Sanchez that a famous vlogger and actress would allegedly die from cancer in 2025.
Baldwin described the person as a beautiful, sexy actress with a mixed nationality background, leading many netizens to speculate that she was referring to Ivana Alawi.
“She had a health issue that was addressed, but cancer later developed. Despite her wealth, the illness becomes untreatable,” Baldwin stated.
The prediction quickly went viral, with mixed reactions from netizens—some expressing concern while others dismissed it as mere speculation.
However, Ivana has now firmly denied the rumors, reiterating that she is in good health and has no serious medical conditions.
