Rising Viva Artists Agency (VAA) star Ashtine Olviga is thriving—both on-screen and off—as she rides the wave of success from her loveteam with fellow young star Andres Muhlach in the hit digital series ‘Ang Mutya ng Section E’.
Despite criticisms from some netizens who say the two “don’t look good together,” Ashtine takes it all in stride.
“Tama naman sila (laughs)! Oo naman, nag-agree naman ako du’n. Pero nag-hit naman kami,” she said at the media launch of her latest project. “Kung minsan natatawa na lang ako… ang importante ay pinagbubuti at seryoso kami sa pagtatrabaho para sa supporters namin.”
The actress also shared that Andres has been supportive amid the negative comments, telling her to avoid reading or dwelling on them.
With ‘Ang Mutya ng Section E’ now making its way from Viva One to free TV via TV5, the Ashtine-Andres pairing—fondly referred to by fans as “AshDres”—continues to gain traction. Some supporters have even dubbed them the potential next JaDine, a comparison Ashtine humbly addressed: “Sobrang blessed lang po kung ganoon ang mangyayari. Kung hindi man, for sure may ibang magandang mangyayari sa career namin.”
When asked whether she’s attracted to her screen partner, Ashtine answered candidly: “Siyempre naa-attract naman, pero mas na-attract ako sa personality niya. Sobrang bait talaga ni Andres sa akin.”
Ashtine is also stepping into the world of business with her own fragrance, ASH Perfume, a unisex Eau de Parfum developed in collaboration with Viva Beauty Corporation. The scent reflects her own personality—sweet, confident, and a little edgy.
“Sweet siya, may touch din siya ng vanilla. Siniguro ko rin na pwede siya sa panlalaki… minsan may mood ako na maangas, pero may pagkasweet pa din.”
The perfume was launched last May 15 at Viva Café in Cubao, where Ashtine credited Viva for opening new doors for her: “Sobrang thankful po ako sa Viva kasi binigyan nila ako ng opportunity para ma-open sa business world. If na-try ko ‘to mag-isa, alam kong mahihirapan po ako.”
She also extended heartfelt thanks to Boss Vic del Rosario, who personally chose her to play Jay-Jay Mariano in Mutya.
“Siya po ‘yong unang naniwala sa akin. I’m sure, hindi ko po makukuha ‘to lahat kung hindi po siya naniwala sa akin.”
From being a promising actress to launching her own fragrance line, Ashtine continues to prove that she’s more than just a pretty face—she’s a force in the making.
