Social media personality and singer Rhaila Tomakin has found herself under the spotlight once again after claiming in a recent interview that she doesn’t know actress Kyline Alcantara, the former girlfriend of basketball star Kobe Paras.
Rhaila, who clarified earlier that she and Kobe are “just friends,” explained her unfamiliarity with the Kapuso actress during a media event.
“For me kasi I don’t know her, because I grew up in Dubai and I don’t really watch—laki akong Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network… I’m pretty sure, Englishera halata, right?” Rhaila quipped, referencing the viral “Englishera Girl” meme from an online dating game.
Despite the growing buzz online, Rhaila maintained a respectful tone and had only well-wishes for Kyline: “I wish her all the best. I wish her more projects, more love, more happiness…”

As of writing, Kyline Alcantara has yet to respond to Rhaila’s comments.
Meanwhile, Kobe Paras shared a cryptic Instagram Story that drew even more attention to the ongoing drama. Posting a scenic photo of a sunset over the sea, the athlete included the caption: “Without pain there is no joy.”
The vague post fueled speculation among netizens, many linking it to his recent breakup with Kyline and the subsequent controversies that followed.
Kobe and Kyline’s relationship ended earlier this year and was later followed by online jabs and public statements—most notably from Kobe’s mother, Jackie Forster, who publicly defended her son amid the backlash.
The drama escalated when photos of Kobe in Bali holding hands with a mystery woman surfaced. Netizens quickly identified the woman as Rhaila, based on matching posts from both individuals. This led to further intrigue about the timeline of events between Kobe and Kyline.
In her earlier interview, Rhaila strongly denied being a third party, and reiterated that her connection with Kobe is strictly platonic—for now.
“I don’t think you should ever say no to anything. If it’s God’s will, then it’s God’s will,” she said, when asked if there was a chance she’d date Kobe. “But right now, I just want to focus on my career and schooling.”
As the public continues to follow this tangled narrative, all eyes remain on how each figure involved will respond—or move forward.
