More than a meal—it was a moment to remember together as one family. NCR athletes pose in front of the newly opened Max’s Laoag branch after receiving a warm, family-style welcome during Palarong Pambansa 2025. In true Max’s fashion, the spotlight was on the people, the community, and the spirit of togetherness that makes every gathering meaningful.
Laoag City, Philippines – Almost a month after the cheers of Palarong Pambansa 2025 faded, one gesture continues to resonate deeply with young athletes and the local community: the heartfelt welcome they received at the newly opened Max’s Restaurant in SM City Laoag.
Rather than a typical grand opening, Max’s Laoag marked its launch by doing what it does best—serving warm, comforting meals in true family-style fashion as Max’s hosted a special dining experience for National Capital Region (NCR) athletes, many of whom were visiting Ilocos Norte for the first time.
“We opened in Laoag not just to grow, but to give back to the community,” shared Josephine Sta. Ana, Operations Head of Max’s Restaurant, “As we are about to mark 80 years of serving Filipino families, this opening is our heartfelt tribute to the young athletes and the entire community that inspires us. Here, we’re creating a home where every visit is filled with the same love, warmth, and Sarap-to-the-Max hospitality that Max’s has proudly shared across generations.”
Fifteen-year-old volleyball player John Howard Guerra expressed his gratitude: “I’m truly grateful for the warm hospitality of the Ilocanos, and of course, the unforgettable welcome from Max’s. It was my first time in Laoag, and the comfort of great food and a homey atmosphere made it feel like I was among family.”
This simple yet heartfelt gesture reflects Max’s deeper commitment: to be present not just in communities, but for communities. Whether it’s honoring loyal customers, recognizing team members, or celebrating the everyday Filipino, Max’s continues to find ways to turn moments into memories.
The Laoag opening joins a growing list of community-driven store launches across the country. In Marikina, Max’s honored its longtime suppliers. In Novaliches, loyal guests received surprise birthday tributes. In Imus, personal stories of team members took center stage. And now, in Laoag, the spotlight shines on the next generation of Filipino athletes—a new chapter in a legacy rooted in love for people and place.
As Max’s celebrates 80 years of being part of the Filipino dining table, it reaffirms that expansion is not just about geography, but about deepening relationships. Because at Max’s, growth is measured not in square meters, but in the hearts it touches—one meaningful moment at a time.
Plates full and hearts fuller. NCR Palarong Pambansa volleyball athletes and their coaches enjoy a comforting meal at Max’s Laoag. A simple yet meaningful gesture that honors not just their achievements, but the spirit of community Max’s has cherished for 80 years.
