GMA Network proudly launches Stars on the Floor, the newest and biggest dance reality competition on television, premiering this June 28.
Hosted by no less than Asia’s Multimedia Star and Box-Office King Alden Richards, Stars on the Floor brings together the country’s top celebrity performers and today’s most-followed digital dance stars in one exciting dance stage. This isn’t just a competition, it’s a celebration of creativity, movement, and collaboration like never before.
The show features five celebrity dance stars who are no strangers to performing for the Filipino audience. Glaiza De Castro, known as a dramatic actress and a keen performer in musical variety shows, brings passion and elegance to the floor. Rodjun Cruz, a seasoned actor-dancer and fan favorite in music variety programs, promises intense energy and confidence. Faith da Silva, while doing her hosting work on TiktoClock and acting commitments in Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre, brings her fire to the dancefloor. Thea Astley, powerhouse vocalist from All-Out Sundays and a familiar face in musical theater, offers power and stage presence. And VXON Patrick, recently awarded Male Dancer of the Year in the P-Pop Awards, steps up to prove that idol-level training meets primetime impact.
They are joined by five of the most followed and celebrated digital content creators who specialize in dance in the country and beyond. Zeus Collins, with millions of followers and likes across platforms, brings undeniable charisma and charm. Dasuri Choi, a South Korean dancer based in the Philippines with over 15 million followers on TikTok, contributes her signature precision and K-pop polish. Kakai Almeda, one-half of the viral treadmill-dancing twins, adds fun and energy to the ensemble. JM Yrreverre, known online for his trending Lagabog dance video, has been competing here and abroad, and now brings his masterful dance performances to TV. Joshua Decena, known for his dance covers on social media and in his dance classes, brings his swag and dynamic style to complete the cast.
Each week, these celebrity and digital dance stars team up to face themed dance challenges—blending styles with creative twists such as “Dance Style X Movie Genre,” “Dance Style X Props,” or even “Dance Style X Sports.” There are no eliminations, but stakes are high as duos fight for top points as they race each other to the top of the leaderboard and win a prize for a chosen charity.
Guiding the competition is a powerhouse panel known as “The Dance Authority.” Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera leads the panel, offering heartfelt critique and looking for emotion and expression in each performance. Actress Pokwang, whose career began as a professional dancer and choreographer before making her mark as a comedienne, is ready to bring her energy and a sharp eye for entertainment and audience impact. Completing the panel is Coach Jay Joseph Roncesvalles, the choreographer behind SB19’s biggest hits, who judges with a keen eye for technique, synchronicity, and creativity.
Each performance is brought to life with the guidance of top-tier dance coaches, led by head choreographer MJ Arda, co-founder and coach of the renowned A-Team dance crew. With styles ranging from hip-hop and ballroom to Latin and jazz, audiences can look forward to a vibrant and dynamic showcase each week, made even more powerful by the creative partnership between the stars and their choreographers.
Stars on the Floor is set to be a primetime spectacle on television and the digital platform.
