PlayTime FilOil Centre Unveiled

In a landmark moment for Philippine sports and community development, the historic FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City was officially unveiled as the PlayTime FilOil Centre. The rebranding of this iconic venue—known for decades as the home of premier collegiate sports—marks not just a change in name, but a renewed commitment to uplifting Filipino athletes and strengthening the nation’s sports culture through strategic private sector collaboration.

The renaming comes as part of a major partnership between FilOil and PlayTime, one of the country’s leading online entertainment platforms with a growing reputation for responsible gaming and nation-focused initiatives. Spearheading the effort is PlayTime CARES, the social responsibility arm of PlayTime, which aims to bridge entertainment, education, and athleticism for the benefit of Filipino youth and communities.

“Through our social responsibility arm PlayTime CARES, this partnership with FilOil is an affirmation of our deep commitment to elevating the next generation of Filipino athletes—providing them with opportunities, resources, and a venue to grow their talents and pursue their dreams,” said Krizia Cortez, Director of Public Relations at PlayTime. “We believe that sports is a platform for unity and is about community. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to doing good, to be a partner in nation-building, and in uplifting the Filipino talent to a whole new playing field.”

Elevating Sports as a Vehicle for Transformation

The PlayTime FilOil Centre is not just a venue; it is envisioned as a space for development—one where future sports legends are discovered, communities are strengthened, and the youth are mentored in values of perseverance, teamwork, and excellence. Apart from being a cornerstone in collegiate sports, the centre is the embodiment of the shared values between PlayTime and FilOil – uplifting education, sportsmanship, and health.

With its revamped identity, the centre will continue to host the PlayTime CARES FilOil EcoOil Preseason Cup, the elite competition spotlighting the country’s top collegiate basketball teams. Other than basketball, PlayTime CARES is also looking into other sports such as volleyball as well as exploring other programs and community events.

“We understand the sensitivities and apprehension with regards to our industry,” Cortez continued. “That’s why we are drawing a very clear line between our operations and our advocacy for public good. Through PlayTime CARES, we are demonstrating that we can be part of the solution—championing responsible entertainment while being involved and supporting real-world initiatives for change that is sustainable and transformative.”

Partnering for Progress

PlayTime’s partnership with FilOil is a representation of the vital role of collaboration in the private sector. This endeavor champions the idea that businesses, when aligned around shared values, can be catalysts for systemic change and national progress. The narrative shifts and proves that sustainable business growth and civic accountability are not mutually exclusive, but deeply interconnected.

A New Legacy Begins

The PlayTime FilOil Centre now stands as a symbol of revolutionary transformation, renewal, and promise. When corporations embrace their role in community development and come together, true and lasting change becomes more than possible, it becomes the reality.
