From page to screen, the bestselling Wattpad novel ‘Seducing Drake Palma’ is coming to life this June 15 on Viva One—and leading the charge is Viva’s newest love team: Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji.
Based on the hit story by Ariesa Jane Domingo, known to fans as “Beeyotch,” ‘Seducing Drake Palma’ is a fan-favorite with over 120 million reads. The digital series adaptation is helmed by acclaimed director Crisanto B. Aquino (‘My Future You’, ‘Write About Love’) and is the latest offering from Studio Viva.
Rabin Angeles, fresh from his breakout role as Yuri Hanamitchi in ‘Ang Mutya ng Section E’, now steps into the shoes of Drake Palma—a rich, smart, and aloof heartthrob who seems immune to love. Angela Muji plays Alys Perez, the outspoken and strong-willed girl who is dared to seduce Drake on behalf of her heartbroken best friend.
“Sobrang nag-prepare ako sa role ko na ‘to. Sobrang laki nga po ng role na binigay sa akin,” said Rabin. “Sobrang thankful din po ako kina Boss Vic (del Rosario) na binigyan nila ko ng ganitong project na hindi ko iniisip na magagawa ko ‘to this year.”
Angela, a former PPop Generation member and now rising actress, admitted that the lead role both thrilled and scared her. “Kinausap ko ‘yung sarili ko. ‘Hala, ba’t mo tinanggap? Kaya mo ba ‘yan?’” she recalled. “Pero ako kasi, heto ‘yung pangarap ko, eh. Matagal ko ‘tong hinihintay. Nandito na ‘to, tatanggi pa ba ‘ko?”
Instead of crumbling under pressure, Angela used it as fuel. “I use it as a motivation to become better. Nag-focus po ako sa acting ko, nag-focus po ako sa character ko.”
The series doesn’t rely on just chemistry; it boasts a solid ensemble including Dylan Menor, Yumi Garcia, Rafa Victorino, Ethan David, and Sara Joe, with special roles played by Mark Anthony Fernandez, Christopher Roxas, and Lander Vera Perez.
‘Seducing Drake Palma’ promises an exciting mix of romance, tension, and high school drama. At its core is a love story that grows from an innocent challenge into a genuine connection—complicated by jealousy, secrets, and past wounds.
Rabin shared that one of his favorite scenes has already been filmed—yes, including a kissing scene—and emphasized how deeply he studies his script to fully deliver the character’s arc.
As for Angela, the pressure of stepping into the spotlight is now replaced with gratitude. “Nabunutan po ako ng tinik no’ng makita ko na, na okey naman ang reaction sa akin,” she said, referring to the viral success of the show’s teaser.
With over 4 million followers on TikTok and more than a million on Facebook, Angela’s online popularity is expected to skyrocket once the show premieres. But she remains grounded: “I promise to work harder… and to make sure na lahat po ng ilalabas ko is authentically me.”
With 16 episodes lined up, ‘Seducing Drake Palma’ is ready to win the hearts of a new generation of viewers. The romantic series premieres June 15 on Viva One.
