Thai rapper Milli showcases emotional side with new single ‘MENACE’

Explosive Thai rapper MILLI has just released a peek at her upcoming album with the second single ‘MENACE’, a suave crossover track with introspective lyrics that represent MILLI’s inner emotions, showing a stark contrast from her previous hard-hitting release ‘ONE PUNCH’.

“After the intense ‘ONE PUNCH’, I’m shifting towards R&B vibes with this new song ‘MENACE’. The intensity of the two songs is very different. This song has a much lighter groove, but the lyrics are extremely heavy because they represent my own pain of choosing to walk away from a relationship that was hurting me,” said MILLI.

Alongside the single, MILLI has also released a music video for ‘MENACE’, marking a significant transformation for her as she showcases her growth and sexiness in this new era. The music video is directed by Rose-Ruangsroi Aksornsawang, an award-winning film director who has created beautiful cinematic visuals for ‘MENACE’, showing an intense storyline that reflects the themes of the upcoming album HEAVYWEIGHT.

Revealing more about ‘MENACE’, MILLI said, “This is a confident step forward, with me telling myself that I will no longer be the only one being victimized, that I am good enough. The song is a result of a collaboration with a foreign producer during an 88Rising song camp in Los Angeles. I’m also very excited for everyone to check out my new album HEAVYWEIGHT, which will be released in less than a month!”

MILLI is a dynamic Thai rapper, singer and songwriter who made history as the first Thai artist to perform on the main stage at Coachella in 2022. Known for constantly reinventing her image and delivering fierce rap flows, MILLI has quickly become a standout artist under her label YUPP! Entertainment. MILLI’s talent caught the attention of artists across different labels, leading to numerous collaborations. Notably, her collaboration with the Thai band Tilly Birds on ‘Just Being Friendly’ has garnered over 100 million views on YouTube. Similarly, her feature on ‘Mirror Mirror’ alongside F.HERO and Changbin from Stray Kids also surpassed 100 million views.

In addition to these achievements, MILLI has worked with the global record label 88rising, contributing to the official remix of BIBI’s ‘The Weekend’, which has garnered over 80 million views on YouTube. She also collaborated with Jackson Wang on the track ‘Mind Games’ which received widespread attention from music fans around the world. She was selected by Spotify’s EQUAL campaign, an initiative promoting women in the music and audio industry, featuring herself in the popular music streaming service. As part of this campaign, her upcoming single’s artwork was displayed on a giant screen in New York’s Times Square. In 2022, she was named one of the 100 most influential women in the world by the BBC, further cementing her status as a global icon.

Her talent has been recognized with numerous awards, both nationally and internationally, including ‘Best New Asian Artist Thailand’ (Mnet Asian Music Awards: 2020 MAMA), Top Ten 2020 The Hottest Songs (JOOX Music Thailand Top 100 2020), Hip-Hop Song of the Year and New Face of the Year (Rap is Now Awards 2020), and the Rising Star (Kazz Awards 2020). In late 2022, MILLI released her highly anticipated debut album, BABB BUM BUM, which earned her Best Album of the Year and Best Solo Artist of the Year at the TOTY Music Awards 2022. MILLI will return in 2025 with her second album on June 26.
