Following the massive success of ‘And The Breadwinner Is’, Vice Ganda is officially reuniting with award-winning director Jun Robles Lana for another film project.
The Unkabogable Superstar confirmed the news on social media after a fan praised the heartwarming Netflix hit: “vice ganda’s ‘and the breadwinner is’ is a masterpiece. sobrang ganda, ang heart-warming ng movie. it feels home. sana makagawa pa si meme ng maraming pelikula tulad nito.”
To which Vice Ganda replied, “Makakaasa ka po. Another Vice Ganda x Jun Lana movie is on it’s way.”
The 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, ‘And The Breadwinner Is’, marked Vice Ganda’s cinematic comeback and has been met with both critical acclaim and box office success. ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema announced that the film has earned over ₱400 million nationwide, making it the seventh Vice Ganda film to reach this milestone — and the first since 2018.
The movie also earned Vice Ganda a Special Jury Citation from the MMFF, recognizing his performance in a more dramatic role, a departure from his usual comedic fare. The ensemble cast included respected actors Eugene Domingo, Jhong Hilario, Gladys Reyes, and Malou de Guzman.
Currently streaming on Netflix, the film continues to garner praise for its emotional depth and timely storytelling.
