Digital creator and ‘Showtime Online Ü’ host AC Soriano took to social media to express strong disapproval of recent remarks made by beauty and fashion icons Ricky Reyes and Renee Salud, who both openly opposed same-sex marriage and the SOGIE Equality Bill during a sit-down interview with Toni Gonzaga-Soriano on ‘Toni Talks.’

In the interview, Toni asked, “So, ano po ang stand n’yo sa same-sex marriage?”
That’s over boarding. Hindi na tama ‘yon.”
The two also addressed their views on the SOGIE bill and the LGBTQIA+ community. Gilingin mo man ‘yan, ang labas n’yang baklang hamburger. Walang pagbabago.”
Salud added, “Ako naman, sige bigyan ng karapatan, bigyan sila ng puwang sa lipunan kaso lang the problem with some gays they ask for too much. Masyadong entitled.”
Reyes emphasized, “That is more than acceptance. ‘Yun ang sinasabi ko, toleration is more than acceptance.”
AC Soriano was quick to react. Quoting a report about the interview on X (formerly Twitter), Soriano posted: “Hindi rin po kami in favor sa mga gupit ninyo na akala nyo kinaganda nyo po :)”
The remark immediately drew a wide array of reactions online. While many users praised AC for standing up for the LGBTQIA+ community, others criticized the response as disrespectful of differing opinions.
Among the varied comments from netizens. In another post, AC Soriano also shared a video of Vice Ganda speaking at a recent Pride Month event in Quezon City — a message many interpreted as a subtle rebuke to Reyes and Salud.
Vice said,“Kung tutuusin, may pribilehiyo na ako, e.
AC captioned the clip simply: “MY MOTHER.”
As of this writing, Ricky Reyes and Renee Salud have yet to issue any statement or response to the backlash sparked by their comments and AC Soriano’s viral retort.
