Actress and content creator Ivana Alawi once again spread joy and generosity, this time to the daughter of fellow actress Katrina Halili, during a heartwarming ‘Can’t Say No Challenge’ vlog on her YouTube channel.
In the episode, Ivana spent the day with Katrina and her daughter Katie, expressing admiration for Katrina’s strength as a single mom and for Katie’s sweet and respectful nature. “Can’t say no to Katie,” Ivana quipped—setting the tone for a fun-filled and touching day.
They first headed to Toy Kingdom, where Ivana was impressed by Katie’s thoughtful choices and practical mindset. “Kahit prices chini-check niya,” Ivana noted, praising Katie’s self-awareness even as she picked out toys. At one point, Katie even asked for a discount—much to everyone’s amusement. After loading up on toys (worth over ₱60,000), the trio visited Gootopia, where Katie happily played with slime.
But the biggest surprise of the day came when Katie asked for an iPhone—and Ivana, staying true to her promise, said yes without hesitation.
On Facebook, Katrina proudly posted Katie’s first photo using her new phone and wrote: “First photo ng bagong iPhone ni Katie. Thank you Ivana Alawi. Walang nagawa si Mama Kat sa day off ni Katie with Tita Ivana.”
Ivana, for her part, reflected on how Katrina had been kind to her sister Mona Alawi years ago during their first TV project together. “Nagkuwento sa akin si Mona na napakabait niyo raw sa kanya,” Ivana recalled, deepening the sense of mutual respect and friendship between the two actresses.
Their conversation also touched on parenting and Katrina’s hands-on approach to raising Katie, especially in navigating her Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Katrina shared how she stays deeply involved in her daughter’s day-to-day life: “Kasama ko siya… tinuturuan ko siya maglinis. Kapag wala si Katie, kulang. So, hindi ko alam [paano ko hina-handle].”
Ivana praised Katrina’s parenting and added: “Tinanong ko nga si Mona, ‘Mabait ba si Ate Kat?’ sabi niya sobrang bait, down-to-earth, kalog, humble.”
