‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ housemates and Sparkle artists Mika Salamanca and Will Ashley have earned praise from netizens for joining relief efforts for victims of Tropical Storm Crising and the southwest monsoon (habagat).

The two young celebrities were seen volunteering at Trining’s Kitchen and Urban Chick Maginhawa in Quezon City, helping prepare meals alongside other volunteers. The initiative was organized by the non-governmental organization Angat Buhay, founded and chaired by former Vice President Leni Robredo.
In a Facebook post on July 23, Angat Buhay expressed its gratitude to the PBB stars: “Thank you, Mika and Will! Muli, maraming salamat sa pakikipagbayanihan. Thank you for standing with our mission.”
Photos showed Mika and Will peeling vegetables and assisting in cooking hot meals for families affected by days of torrential rain and flooding across Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
“There is no big or small help. Even just sharing your time is already a huge effort for those in need,” said Salamanca.
Earlier, the ‘PBB ‘Big Winner also launched a donation drive through her platforms, calling for public support.
“We are helping mobilize a team to be able to provide hot meals to victims in different parts of Metro Manila,” she said. “Like our previous efforts, we will update you every step of the way and we will be very transparent as to how the proceeds will be used or distributed to various groups. Thank you so much and let us all be safe.”
The relief initiative gained positive attention online, with fans and netizens alike lauding the duo for using their platforms for good. Comments flooded social media with messages of admiration.
Some fans even dubbed the two as the “real definitions of Big Winner,” coining the nickname “MIKWILL” for the beloved duo.
Mika Salamanca was named one of the Big Winners in the recently concluded ‘PBB: Celebrity Collab Edition’, alongside Brent Manalo (collectively known as “BreKa”), while Will Ashley placed second as part of the “RaWi” tandem with Ralph de Leon.
As of July 24, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported 12 fatalities due to the weather disturbances, while the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) estimated over 3.2 million people have been affected.
